Our Philosophy"Real-Girl Role Models" | Troop #2091 is a perpetual, multi-level troop. It maintains three patrols, organized according to the school-age-based levels within Girl Scouts USA: Daisy (grades K-1), Brownie (grades 2-3), and Junior (grades 4-5). Girls "bridge" from one level to the next within the troop, then bridge to sister troop #12091. Girls may enter the troop at any level, provided we are able to maintain the proper volunteer-to-girl ratio for that age group. We gather all together to open our meetings, then divide into patrols for level-specific programming. Still in its early forming stage, Troop 12091 is intended to be a perpetual, multi-level troop for upper-level Girl Scouts. Girls will determine their own patrol structures based on their interests and goals. Nominally, there are two patrols: Frontier (all things Girl Scout) and Olympia (Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award candidates). Adult volunteers provide as much guidance and support as the girls need. This sister-troop relationship is foundational to our philosophy that girls make their own best, relatable role models. Our girls can have the advantage of "programmed-in" mentoring opportunities, where younger girls will see role models on a regular basis and older girls can practice their developing leadership and mentoring skills. |
Meetings | The 2022-23 troop year runs from October 1, 2022 through May 31, 2023. Our regular meetings occur twice each month at a location along the MD-3 corridor between Waugh Chapel Rd and MD-450E. We also try to add a family outing/hike each month. For more specific details of meeting time and location, please contact us. |
Our Volunteers | We value our volunteers, because Volunteers make it happen. Volunteers can share their time and talents for as little as one hour and as much as an every-week commitment. Check out the opportunities for you to help our troop. |
![]() | We would love to grow our troop and, with it, the opportunities for our girls to grow into tomorrow's strong women. If, however, our schedule or philosophy don't seem a perfect fit for your current or future Girl Scout, please seek out another troop that meets her needs. There are many troops available in this area, each with its own focus and tempo. If you would like to learn more about Girl Scouting in Central Maryland, please visit the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland site or contact Member Services at membercare@gscm.org (410-358-9711). Girl Scouts of Central Maryland is chartered as a 501c(3) organization. |
